Sinossi:

“7 Minutes” is a play inspired by a true story, during an urgent meeting of the union council at Penrose Mills, a fictional textile factory in rural Connecticut.

The story unfolds in real time. A global corporation recently acquired the factory, and the new owners propose a new rule: reducing the workers’ break time by seven minutes. The union council, consisting of eleven women of diverse backgrounds and experiences, must decide whether to accept this change.

As the play progresses, each member reflects on personal and collective implications, leading to a profound exploration of labor rights, solidarity, and the complexities of workplace negotiations.

The play has been performed internationally, including productions in Italy, France, Germany, and Iran. Its English-language debut was presented by Waterwell in New York City in 2019.

In 2016, the play was adapted into a film directed by Michele Placido. The film premiered at the Rome Film Festival and was later screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
